The key to enhanced awareness is living in the moment and being fully present in what is happening right now. Start immediately! You don't need to learn any complex techniques to begin, just start paying attention to your life as it happens, in the moment. Be aware of the sensation of sitting in your chair. Be aware of your hand on the mouse. Be aware of things you see and hear around you. Stay here and now as much as you can. This will require a good deal of focus on your part because your mind is going to drift back into the fog after only a few seconds. That's ok because your only job is to get back to now every time you realize you've slipped. Over time you will begin to develop a real awareness of the present world around you. From here you'll open up an amazing new world of possibilities. Basic Meditation To Focus Your MindBeyond the basic practice of everyday awareness we strongly urge you to begin a relaxed program of meditation. This does not involve any sort of mystical, hocus-pocus style chanting or other "far out" activity. Meditation is usually nothing more than patient observation and/or focused consciousness. There are numerous styles of meditation, and a variety of different exercises. We encourage you to find something that fits well with your beliefs and personality and to explore this without pressure or anxious expectation. The most basic form of meditation is a simple breathing exercise that can improve your focus, decrease stress, and have a positive impact on your blood pressure and cardiovascular health. Do this exercise daily for as little as three minutes at a time (surely you can spare 3 minutes!) and you'll see real results within a short time! And you can take basic meditation to the next level by learning about the chakra system. If you have any current heart or lung problems, or if you're diabetic you should consult a physician before engaging in any deep breathing exercise. Learn To Listen To Your IntuitionAs you begin to practice your awareness, and to develop greater focus, you need to start listening to your intuitive voice. This is just an expression, and we are not implying that you will actually hear a voice (thought it's ok if you do). Often when people receive intuition it is in the form of mind pictures, body sensations, or pure knowledge. It's not really important how your intuition speaks to you, only that you begin to recognize it when it does. Most of the time we know what action to take, and we know the answer to a specific problem. But we tend to cloud the issue by over thinking it and fretting that we might make the wrong decision. The key to peace of mind and a happy life, in many ways, is trusting ourselves and following our true intuition. So please decide now that you will seek out the inner voice that compels you toward the right action for you. Practice sitting quietly when there is a choice to make and observing what thoughts, feelings, images, etc. come to mind naturally and without worry. Many times such experiences are our intuition leading us. This might take some time and patience on your part but you will discover your intuition if you persist. The good news is we all have this capacity so you really can't fail. Believing Is SeeingWe should point out here that if you don't want to find your intuition or your psychic talents, you probably won't. Does this mean they aren't real? Perhaps, in the same way philosophers would argue the chair isn't really there if you believe it not to be. By the same token those who believe the chair is there have a nice place to sit down.
